...of choice but I think I'm still loving this. Finally decided to start on season 2 of Batman: The Enemy Within. I haven't been a huge fan of the series just because of the licence the developers took with the characters. This being said, the voice acting is very good and while the story beats make me squirm( as I am a die hard Batman The Animated Series(BTAS) fan)I am appreciative of the story telling.
However, I do feel that choice in these titles is really just an illusion. Furthermore, while our choices and their consequences were meant to carry over, I don't think mine did. Perhaps this was only available to people with TellTale accounts. I've remarked before how much it feels like choices do alter the direction of the story in the Quantic Dream titles(Beyond Two Souls, Detroit Become Human). Here, it does feel like no matter what I choose I'm being shepherded down a particular path. One I may not be necessarily be in favour of.
The art style is a particular highlight and lends itself to the type of story being told(A comic book story). There is a shadows mode which has the comic book panels drained of all colour to give them a noir look. I'd rather play in full colour though.
From a technical perspective the game seems to be running well and since this is a point and click adventure(more or less)I doubt I would notice much either way. Gameplay mechanics include moving the analog sticks and responding to timed button prompts and dialogue choices so not very involving on the part of the player. However, this could be a good title to introduce others to gaming. There is a group play element involving a cellphone app when it comes to making the dialogue choices. I would have loved to test this(similar to Until Dawn's)but I do suspect the server's are down as TellTale shut down years ago.
